Renov.lu grew out of the experience of homeowners who carried out several renovation projects in Luxembourg and ran into the same difficulties: understanding the exact process, working out the combined grants and the cost of a project, and finding trustworthy companies charging fair prices. Its founder, Yacine Sahnoune, spent several years in Luxembourg real estate, notably at atHome.lu, and takes a close interest in renovation and renewable energy. On the support side, Thomas answers homeowners’ questions about energy renovation, solar panels and heat pumps. The legal details are in the legal notice.

What renov.lu does, and what it does not

Renov.lu does three things: it explains works, their prices and the grants available in Luxembourg in free guides, it calculates a first estimate with simulators, and it forwards your quote request to partner companies; it carries out no works, is not a public body and signs no contract on your behalf.

Renov.lu does Renov.lu does not
Guides by type of works, in French, English and German, including renovating a building together: co-ownership renovation Carry out works or sell equipment
Free simulators, no registration: energy renovation, heat pump, solar panels, air conditioning, renovation works Pay or process grants: the state and its administrations do
Forward your request to companies established in Luxembourg, across 25 trades Sign a contract or guarantee works: the chosen company alone is responsible

The simulators’ estimates are based on average prices and grant values: they replace neither a site visit, nor a quote, nor the opinion of the body that manages the grant concerned. For neutral, free advice on energy grants, Klima-Agence answers on 8002 11 90.

How prices and grant amounts are established

The grant amounts published on renov.lu come from official texts (laws, grand-ducal regulations, guichet.lu pages) with their conditions and dates; prices are market ranges surveyed from companies established in Luxembourg, presented as such and never attributed to a public body.

  • Grants: every amount is checked against its source. Example: Klimabonus Wunnen follows the law of 24 July 2026, which pays flat rates rather than percentages, with a temporary top-up until 30 June 2027. Measures announced but not yet passed are flagged as such.
  • Prices: no public body publishes construction or renovation costs per m² in Luxembourg. Our ranges are therefore market surveys, dated and generally excluding VAT, checked against STATEC’s construction price index (+2.6% year on year in April 2026).
  • Dates: every guide shows its last update date; only a signed quote binds a company.

How partner companies are chosen

Every partner company is established in Luxembourg and holds, for its trade, a business permit that can be checked on guichet.lu; renov.lu verifies it when the company joins the network and removes companies that generate disputes.

  • One request, few companies: your project is forwarded to 3 companies covering your trade and area, which contact you within 48 working hours.
  • Who pays: the partner companies, through a monthly subscription. Homeowners pay nothing and renov.lu takes no commission on the works: this is what allows it to publish independent price guides.
  • Your freedom: you sign with the company of your choice, or with none.

To check any company yourself (permit, insurance, warning signs), follow our guide to choosing a renovation company. Are you a tradesperson in Luxembourg? See become a partner.

Frequently asked questions about renov.lu

Who publishes the renov.lu website?

The site is published by WeSave, a simplified joint-stock company with share capital of €1,000, registered office at 229 rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, registered with the Paris RCS under number 938 644 317. Its legal representative and publication director is Yacine Sahnoune, founder of renov.lu. The site’s activity is carried out in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

How is renov.lu funded?

Renov.lu is funded by its partner companies, which pay a monthly subscription to receive quote requests in their trades and areas. Homeowners pay nothing, and the site takes no commission on signed works, which keeps its price guides independent.

Is renov.lu an official body or a building company?

Neither. Renov.lu is a private information and matching platform: it pays no grants, carries out no works and signs no contracts. Grants are processed by the state, and free advice from Klima-Agence remains available on 8002 11 90.

Where do the prices shown on renov.lu come from?

They are market ranges surveyed from companies established in Luxembourg, dated and generally excluding VAT, since no public body publishes prices of works per m². They are checked against STATEC’s construction price index and do not replace a quote, the only document that binds a company.

How are grant amounts kept up to date?

Every amount is checked against the official text in force, whether a law, a regulation or a guichet.lu page, with its conditions and dates. Measures announced but not yet passed, such as raising the housing VAT cap to €100,000, are flagged as such, and every page shows its last update date.

How do I report an error on the site?

Write to support [at] renov.lu or use the contact page, stating the page, the information in question and, if possible, the official source that contradicts it. Reports are used to correct the site between two updates.

Renov.lu is not a party to the contracts signed and is not responsible for the works carried out or the prices charged by companies. See the conditions of use.
