The Renov.lu solar simulator estimates the optimal kWp, annual output, 2026 Klimabonus grants and payback from your real roof address (Google Solar). Here are the reference figures used in Luxembourg.
| Item | 2026 reference |
|---|---|
| Installed cost | ≈ €2,250/kWp |
| Power of one panel | 400 Wp |
| Output assumed by the simulator | ≈ 800 kWh/kWp/yr (cautious assumption, adjusted to your roof's sunshine) |
| Lifespan / warranty | 25 years |
| Grid electricity price | ≈ €0.26/kWh |
| Surplus sold at market price (with Klimabonus) | ≈ €0.06/kWh (estimate) |
| Guaranteed feed-in tariff 2026, 15 years (without Klimabonus) | €0.1333/kWh (≤ 10 kWp) · €0.1252/kWh (10-30 kWp) |
| Home battery | ≈ €710/kWh |
| Scheme | Amount | Cap |
|---|---|---|
| Solar Klimabonus (self-consumption, waiver of the guaranteed feed-in tariff), from 2 kWp | kWp × (1,155 − 33 × kWp) | €10,000 from 15 kWp (no maximum power) |
| Home-battery grant, from 2 kWh | kWh × (500 − 27.8 × kWh) | €2,250 from 9 kWh |
| Complementary municipal grants | vary by municipality (often 10 to 50% of the Klimabonus) | depends on municipality |
Pre-financing is optional: the installer can deduct the Klimabonus from your invoice, for the same amount. The municipal grant is requested separately from the municipality.
Around €2,250 per kWp installed. A 6 kWp residential system therefore costs about €13,500 before grants.
The solar Klimabonus is granted from 2 kWp according to the formula kWp × (1,155 − 33 × kWp), then €10,000 from 15 kWp, with no maximum power. Condition: self-consumption, with a waiver of the guaranteed feed-in tariff. On top come the home-battery grant (up to €2,250, from 9 kWh) and municipal grants that vary by municipality (often 10 to 50% of the Klimabonus). Pre-financing by the installer is optional and does not change the amount.
Yes, but you have to choose between two options, which cannot be combined. With the Klimabonus (up to €10,000), you waive the guaranteed tariff: the electricity you consume yourself saves buying power at the grid price (about €0.26/kWh) and the surplus is sold at market price (about €0.06/kWh, estimate). Without the Klimabonus, the surplus is bought back at the 2026 guaranteed tariff for 15 years. Payback mainly depends on your self-consumption rate: the simulator calculates it for your roof.
On average about 1 kWp per 1,000 kWh consumed per year. The simulator computes the optimal power from your roof area and irradiation (Google Solar).
The simulator uses a cautious assumption of about 800 kWh per installed kWp per year, adjusted to your roof's actual sunshine (Google Solar). A 6 kWp system therefore produces around 4,800 kWh/yr.
For a first feed-in in 2026, the tariff guaranteed for 15 years is €0.1333/kWh up to 10 kWp and €0.1252/kWh from 10 to 30 kWp. It cannot be combined with the Klimabonus: if you apply for the Klimabonus, the surplus is sold at market price.
A battery raises your self-consumption rate. Expect about €710/kWh, with a Klimabonus grant from 2 kWh that reaches €2,250 from 9 kWh.
