Why compare three heat pump quotes?
Because three installers almost never propose the same installation: the output chosen, the model, the cylinder and the ancillary work vary, and with them the price, the efficiency and your right to the Klimabonus.
- Output: an installer who copies the old boiler’s output oversizes the heat pump, which then costs more and works less well. One who calculates the heat loss often proposes a smaller machine.
- Compliance: COP, outdoor unit noise, meters, balancing, acceptance by the Chambre des Métiers. One omission loses you €12,000 in grants.

Until 31 December 2026, an installer cannot deduct the heat pump Klimabonus from the invoice. For invoices issued from 1 January 2027, a company listed in the register of the Environment Agency will be able to deduct it from the price excluding VAT (pre-financing). What must a heat pump quote include to qualify for the Klimabonus?
The quote must name a model whose COP reaches at least 3.1 at A7/W35 for air-to-water or 4.3 at B0/W35 for ground source, and whose sound power meets the threshold for its category. It must also include an electricity meter, a heat meter, hydraulic balancing, a buffer tank if the heat pump does not modulate, and the acceptance request to the Chambre des Métiers within a month of commissioning.
Which date counts for the €2,000 increase: signing the quote or the invoice?
The order date: it must fall between 1 January 2026 and 30 June 2027, and the invoice must be issued by 31 December 2028 at the latest. A signed and dated quote normally serves as proof of the order: keep it, and have this confirmed by Klima-Agence if in doubt. An air-to-water heat pump ordered in time receives €12,000 instead of €10,000 when it replaces fossil or electric heating.
Why do two heat pump quotes for the same house differ so much?
The gap comes first from the output chosen: going from an 8 to 12 kW heat pump to a 12 to 16 kW one adds several thousand euros. It then comes from the scope: hot-water cylinder, electrics, boiler removal, radiators or oil tank included or not. Brand and range weigh less than these two factors. Ask for the calculated heat loss and the list of items to compare.
Can an installer price a heat pump without a site visit?
They can give an estimate, not a reliable quote. Without a visit, they know neither the radiators, nor the possible position of the outdoor unit, nor the state of the electrics, and cannot calculate the heat loss. For a first idea of the budget, the online simulator is enough; before signing, insist on a quote drawn up after a site visit.
Who handles the Klimabonus paperwork: the installer or the owner?
Both. The installer completes the technical sheet POCH-2026 and requests acceptance of the heat pump by the Chambre des Métiers and the 3% VAT approval. The owner then files the Klimabonus application on MyGuichet.lu or at the Guichet unique des aides au logement, with form DEPA-2026 and the invoices. Many installers help put the file together: have it stated in the quote.
